Terms of Service

The rules for using Shotara without pretending nobody reads these.

Who these terms are with

These terms are between you and Mandarin Monkey Ltd, company number 13845755, registered in England and Wales, trading through the Shotara product. Registered office: 20 Elm Park Drive, Finchampstead, RG40 4RW. Contact hello@shotara.io.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 to create an account. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must approve any paid subscription and these terms.

Keep your login secure and use accurate account information. You are responsible for activity under your account and for inviting the correct people into a workspace.

Your content

You keep ownership of the ideas, scripts, images, shot lists and other material you add. You give Shotara a limited permission to host, copy, process and display that material only as needed to operate, secure and improve the service.

You must have the right to upload and share the material you add. Do not use Shotara for unlawful, infringing, abusive or malicious content.

Collaboration

Workspace owners control invitations and access. Editors can view and work on ideas assigned to them. Team members / Producers can view and work across the full workspace. Removing a collaborator ends future access, but it cannot make them forget or delete copies they already lawfully downloaded.

Subscriptions

Current prices and plan limits are shown before checkout. Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. Stripe processes payments. You can change or cancel a plan through the billing portal, with access continuing as shown there.

Taxes may apply. Consumer cancellation and refund rights remain available where the law says they cannot be excluded.

Service changes

We may change, improve or discontinue features. We aim to keep Shotara available, but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Keep separate copies of production-critical material and final exports.

Suspension and termination

We may restrict or close an account for serious misuse, security risk, non-payment or breach of these terms. You may delete your account from Profile. Deletion removes owned workspaces and may remove access from shared workspaces.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. Subject to that, Shotara is not liable for indirect loss, lost opportunities, lost profits or losses caused by content, links or files controlled by users or third parties.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, mandatory rights and courts available in your home country are not taken away.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will give reasonable notice of material changes and ask you to accept a new version where required.
